On Saturday the group got to enjoy a great time at one of NC State’s greatest traditions: Packapalooza. The day-long festival, the culmination of Wolfpack Welcome Week, shuts down a portion of Hillsborough Street to be a host to great music, food, and information for students, alumni, and the public. The Grains spent the day hanging out with other NCSU a cappella groups Acappology, Wolfgang, and Ladies in Red spreading the word about the Fall 2014 a cappella auditions. The groups then took to the street and performed a few songs for the people passing by.
The day ended with a big concert at the bell tower. All four groups had the pleasure of being the opener for Packapalooza’s main act, Scotty McCreery. For the first time in school history, the four a cappella groups worked together to perform a joint song, “Something to Talk About.” The Grains then performed their hit “Light ‘Em Up” for the crowd of students and families. We had a great time partaking in the festivities and really enjoyed hanging out with the other a cappella talents at NC State. Stay tuned for our next performance!
